Welcome back everyone! SPC is starting off a new year, and we look forward to new and returned faces. We will be at the Activities Fair in White Plaza on Friday, September 25. Please stop by and say hello, get info about the season, and meet one of our ponies! We will be having our first practice for new members the following Saturday, Sept. 26. Stop by the Activities Fair to get details, or email us at stanfordpoloclub@lists.stanford.edu.
In other news, Professor Sherril Green will be offering a class on Horse Medicine this year, and it is directly intended for members of the polo club to learn more about one of the most important aspects of polo--the horses! Please visit the course website at http://www.stanford.edu/class/compmed103/.
The Stanford Polo Club relies in large part on donations from alums, polo players, and community member to keep our club going. If you're interested in making a monetary donation to the club please contact our treasurer Kyle at konda@stanford.edu. For in-kind donations of horses, tack, or other equipment please contact Horse Manager Katy Peaslee at kpeaslee@stanford.edu. Thank you so much for your support!
Congratulations to our graduating seniors, women's captain and head Horse Manager Cori Esdorn, and women's team member and club Treasurer Stacey Kang. Both have been invaluable to the club, and will hopefully come back often to play!
Summer is here! Long days, no class, and lots of polo. The Stanford Polo Club plays chukkers with the Horse Park Polo Club at the Woodside Horse Park every Tuesday evening, and club chukkers at Webb Ranch on the weekends. Please contact Katy if you're interested in getting involved over the summer, or have any questions regarding summer polo.
